Bussenghi is a frontier worker who is always late for work because of the Swiss border guard Bernasconi. In an ironic twist, the two enemies are forced to coexist 24 hours a day. In addition to bickering about the differences between Swiss and Italian mentalities, the two come to realize that they need each other in order to settle their own problems and to get out of the predicaments they have gotten themselves into.
